Six-Month Suspension for QME Accused of Overbilling

The California Division of Workers' Compensation suspended the qualified medical evaluator certification of Dr. Christopher Chen for six months as part of an agreement to resolve allegations of overbilling. Chen was reappointed to a two-year term as a QME effective Oct. 15. His certification was then suspended for one year beginning Oct. 15, 2014, with the suspension stayed for the period of April 15, 2015, to Oct. 15, 2015, pending the successful completion of probation. Chen also agreed to refund the entire amount of the alleged overbilling. He will pay $4,353.92 to Sedgwick Claims Man...
