House Approves Chaperone Bill

The Hawaii House of Representatives passed a bill that would allow injured workers to bring a chaperone to medical appointments and record conversations with providers conducting exams ordered by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations. If the chaperone obstructs an examination, the injured worker’s right to compensation shall be suspended until the obstruction stops, under SB 859, by Sen. Gilbert S.C. Keith-Agaran, D-Wailuku.
