A North Carolina insurance agent representing Cayman Islands-based United Insurance Company was arrested last week for pocketing premiums designated for United, according to a news release from the North Carolina Department of Insurance.
David Mark Blanton, 50, of Leland, North Carolina, was arrested last week for accepting premiums due to United and putting them in his own account from October 2013 through November 2014, according to the release. Some of the time Blanton asked the customers to write the check directly to him.
