Insurance Bureau Discloses Comp Fraud Cases

The Insurance Fraud Bureau of Massachusetts' January newsletter tells of the temp agency presidents, businessmen, installation installers and roofers recently accused or convicted of workers' compensation fraud in the state. The owner of a Stoughton-based temp agency and cleaning company was arraigned on workers' compensation fraud and larceny charges in Norfolk Superior Court on Jan. 23. Manuel DeSousa allegedly avoided paying roughly $40,000 in workers' compensation insurance premiums to Chartis and Travelers Insurance Cos. He is also accused of making misleading statement...
