Average paid medical costs for in-network treatment provided for back and shoulder injuries are higher than costs for out-of-network treatment, according to a new report from the National Council on Compensation Insurance.
And except for those back and shoulder injuries, in-network claims are less likely to involve admitting a patient to a hospital, have lower costs for outpatient services and involve higher costs for physician services, according to the report, “How Do Medical Networks Impact Workers Compensation Claim Costs?”
