States without workers’ compensation medical fee schedules paid the highest prices for medical services last year among a group of 28 states examined in a study released Wednesday by the Workers Compensation Research Institute.
As of mid-2015, Wisconsin was paying the highest prices for medical services, at nearly 2.5 times the 28-state median. Indiana, New Jersey and Missouri placed second, third and fourth in the WCRI ranking. None of those states had a medical fee schedule at the time.
