Newark Gas Manufacturer Faces Federal Fines for Failing to Correct Hazards

Inspectors with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration have slapped a Newark industrial gas repackaging facility with $57,400 in fines for failing to address safety hazards in a previous inspection, as well as for new code violations. Inspectors have cited Welco Acetylene Corp. with two failure-to-abate violations, two repeated safety violations and one serious safety violation, according to a Tuesday press release.
