Woman Ordered to Pay $40,000 for Double Dipping

A woman who worked as a bookkeeper and personal care aide while receiving workers’ compensation benefits was ordered to pay $40,000 in restitution, the New York State Inspector General’s Office announced. Joanne Florek, 55, pleaded guilty to petit larceny in January and received a “conditional discharge” on May 23.
