Ametros said members of the council are all subject matter experts and that going forward it will look to add additional experts on issues including consumer protection, data security, patient advocacy and personal injury.

Paul Sighinolfi, senior managing director of Ametros, will lead the advisory council, while CFO Nicole Sauk will serve as chairwoman.

Other council members include:

  • Washington, D.C. attorney Thomas Barker, who focuses on federal and state health care legal and regulatory matters. Barker brings special expertise in Medicare and Medicaid law.
  • Boston attorney Colin Zick, whose practice concentrates on health care and compliance issues, especially those related to health insurers and health care providers. Zick chairs his law firm’s privacy and data security practice and works with technology companies on issues involving information privacy and security, including federal and state data privacy and security laws.
  • Attorney Mala Rafik, managing partner of Rosenfeld & Rafik, a New England firm that represents people seeking short- and long-term disability, and patients denied access to health care. Rafik brings a patient advocate perspective to the council, Ametros said.
