TALLAHASSEE, Florida — Florida's workers' compensation medical reimbursement oversight panel has once again recommended a shift in medical fees to address an imbalance that threatens to curtail the number of comp doctors while it raises costs for employers.
The question, again, though, is whether the state Legislature will ratify the revised fee schedules when it convenes in January. Florida insurance regulators said Wednesday that they have no idea if lawmakers will take up the issue, or punt — as they have for the past four years.
