Responders to 9/11 Attacks Outside NYC Applying for Benefits

At least 91 emergency workers who responded to the crash sites at the Pentagon and in rural Pennsylvania following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks have applied for federal benefits for exposure to contaminants at the sites, the Associated Press Reported.The news service said those who have applied for compensation include 66 people who fought fires and participated in the cleanup at the Pentagon and 25 who responded to the wreckage of United Airlines Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pa.About 24,000 firefighters, police, construction workers and others have applied for compensation in New York f...
