A bill signed into law by Gov. Terry McAuliffe on March 23 puts Virginia on the road toward adoption of its first medical fee schedule, but insurers believe the state is using the wrong model and medical providers object to any price controls at all.
According to the Workers Compensation Research Institute, 43 states have adopted workers' compensation medical fee schedules. House Bill 1820 by Delegate Peter F. Farrell, R-Henrico, establishes the framework for Virginia to become the 44th.
