An Illinois bill that would impose a major contributing cause standard will go before the House Labor & Commerce Committee on Monday.
The hearing starts at 3 p.m. in the Capitol Building, Room 114, in Springfield.
Rep. Jim Durkin, R-Burr Ridge, filed House Bill 4248 in July 2015 and proposes that before injured workers receive compensation, they must show by a preponderance of the evidence that their injuries arose out of the course of their employment and that those injuries are the major contributing causes to the medical conditions for which they are seeking compensation.
