Two New Comp Laws

California Govenor Gray Davis signed into law on 9/20/00 Senate Bill 1272 adding Labor Code section 6332 requiring every employer who employs a community health-care worker to keep a record of any violence committed against that worker and to file a copy of the record with the state Department of Industrial Relation's Division of Labor Statistics and Research. Also signed into law was Senate Bill 32 adding Labor Code section 3218.2 which creates a 'disputable presumption' that hepatitis contracted by police officers and other public safety personnel was developed in the course of empl...
