Ground Zero Workers Get Deadline Extension to Qualify for Benefits

New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo on Sunday signed legislation to extend the time frame for 9/11 workers and volunteers to seek lost wage and medical benefits for working at Ground Zero. The legislation (Senate Bill 5745-C and Assembly Bill 7958-C) extends the deadline for individuals to register under the World Trade Center Disability Law until Sept. 11, 2018.
