Gov. Signs Contractor Coverage Bill

California Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill that requires California roofing contractors to carry workers' compensation insurance, regardless of the number of employees, and mandates insurers to conduct annual payroll audits of roofers.California Insurance Code Section 11665 requires carriers to perform annual in-person audits of roofing company payroll records and places of business.
