Pinnacol Assurance would be allowed to create a for-profit subsidiary that could write workers' compensation coverage outside of Colorado under proposed legislation the carrier released on Tuesday.
A bill has not been introduced to the Legislature yet, but Edie Sonn, vice president of communications and public affairs for Pinnacol, said the carrier has lined up a lawmaker to carry the measure and a bill should be introduced sometime over the next several weeks.
