Court Rejects Provider Claims for Repayment of PPO Discounts

The Oregon Court of Appeals ruled Wednesday that a temporary administrative rule in effect for less than six months in 2008 did not entitle 12 physical therapy providers to reimbursement of the deductions that a workers' compensation insurance carrier had taken from their bills pursuant to a "silent PPO" agreement. Portland attorney Diana Godwin has filed hundreds of lawsuits on behalf of physical therapists around the state challenging the application of preferred provider discounts to their bills.
