The North Carolina Industrial Commission is asking lawmakers to clarify that they intended for the agency to base its medical fee schedules on Medicare reimbursements for all types of providers and services.
The legislation sought by the commission is aimed at ambulatory surgery centers. ASCs sued the commission over its proposal to change their schedule and reimburse them at 200% of Medicare instead of 67.15% of billed charges.
