Judge in Worker's Guardianship Action Can't Rule in Carrier's Lien

The Indiana Court of Appeals on Wednesday ruled that its state court judges lack jurisdiction to determine the attorney fees payable by a workers’ compensation insurance carrier for an injury that occurred in neighboring Illinois. The case arose from injuries Christopher Lindroth suffered while working for Coastal International in a motorized cart accident. Lindroth spent extended time in a coma after the accident, and the lower half of his body is permanently paralyzed.
