License of Anesthesiologist Revoked for Alleged Spinal Surgeries

The New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners on Feb. 12 revoked the license of Dr. Richard A. Kaul for allegedly performing spinal surgeries without having proper medical training, education or expertise.The board also ordered Kaul to pay $300,000 in civil penalties and $175,422 in legal and investigative cost reimbursement to the state.The suspension came in the wake of a recommendation issued in December by an administrative law judge that followed a hearing on Kaul's alleged transgressions.Kaul, 49, owns the New Jersey Spine and Rehabilitation Center in Pompton Lakes, N.J.
