The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is proposing $56,400 in fines against a home improvement contractor in Hamburg, New York, after discovering safety violations including a lack of hard hats at a worksite.
OSHA alleges that the company, the Hamburg-based Kevin Burke Home Improvement, was cited for two willful and five serious safety violations. An agent witnessed Burke's employees working on a roof and scaffolding on April 16 with no protection to keep them from falling off, according to a Tuesday press release.
