Colorado lawmakers are considering bills that would allow reciprocal coverage exemptions for workers temporarily in the state and define when a gig economy worker should be classified as an employee.
House Bill 1308, by Rep. Tracy Kraft-Tharp, D-Jefferson, would allow employers in neighboring states to use their coverage for people working temporarily in Colorado if those states provide a reciprocal exemption for Colorado workers temporarily in their jurisdiction.
