The Workers Compensation Research Institute said it found no evidence that would substantiate concerns that the steep growth in consumer prices for energy, food and housing in 2021 and 2022 would drive up costs for medical care.
In a report published Thursday, WCRI said there was no evidence of faster growth in work comp medical prices and payments in most states during the high-inflation period of the last couple of years.
While consumer inflation was substantial in 2021 and 2022, price increases in the medical sector were not a main driver, WCRI said.
