California Gov. Jerry Brown appointed Karla Rhay to a four-year term on the Fraud Assessment Commission.
The seven-member commission allocates money to district attorneys' offices throughout the state to fund the investigation and prosecution of workers' compensation fraud.
Rhay, a Republican, is chief administration officer in the Office of the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, a position she has held since 2005.
