The owner of a home health care agency in northeastern Ohio has been sentenced to a month in jail and ordered to pay $124,573 after pleading guilty to failing to report more than 100 employees to the state.
The fine covers the amount of money that Lawanna Porter, the owner of Palladium Healthcare, should have paid in premiums to the Bureau of Workers' Compensation between 2010 and 2012, according to a Thursday press release. The Franklin County Court of Common Pleas judge also ordered her to pay $15,000 to cover the BWC's investigative costs.
