The Indiana Workers' Compensation Board announced Tuesday that it will collect an assessment to pay for operations of its Second Injury Fund next year.
The board is required to levy an assessment if the balance of the fund on or before Nov. 1 is less than 135% of the previous year's disbursements. The Second Injury Fund balance was $3,182,979.85 as of Oct. 31, and disbursements in 2014 were $6,441,647.87.
Second Injury Fund revenue through Oct. 31 was $7,923,642.48. The monthly expense for prosthetics was $86,511.13 and for benefits was $473,248.85.
