Uninsured Employer Fund to Start Paying Claims in 2020

An uninsured employer fund created by Colorado lawmakers will be established July 1 but won’t start paying claims until the start of 2020, the Division of Workers’ Compensation said in a legislative update. Lawmakers this year passed House Bill 1119, which directs all penalties that previously went to the division and the general fund into the Colorado Uninsured Employers Fund. The bill eliminates a 50% increase in benefits on uninsured claims.
