State investigators have arrested eight employees of Real Care Medical Group, including owners and physicians, and charged them with racketeering, conspiracy and manslaughter for their alleged operation of a pill mill. According to the Florida Office of the Attorney General, Dr. Lynn Averill was complicit in the overdose deaths of at least eight patients to whom she prescribed oxycodone, methadone and alprazolam – all without checking to make sure that the drugs were medically necessary for the patients.
