The South Carolina House of Representatives voted unanimously on Thursday to approve a bill that will allow insurers to pay workers' compensation benefits using debit cards or direct deposits.
Under current South Carolina law, only paper checks are allowed to pay benefits, said the author of the measure, Rep. Craig A. Gagnon, R-Abbeville.
