Home Improvement Work Leads to Fraud Charge Against Claimant

A Connecticut claimant who set out to improve his home and yard while collecting workers' compensation benefits faces a workers' compensation fraud charge, the state Division of Criminal Justice said. Niko Nasto of Wolcott collected $57,000 in benefits after reporting a back injury in April 2014 while working as a door assembler for Stanley Black and Decker in Farmington, the division said. Investigators observed him working at home "on various yard and home improvement projects, al of which were beyond the scope of his claimed disability," according to the arrest warrant. ...
