A committee of North Carolina state lawmakers has approved 10 new rules proposed by the Industrial Commission, nine of which take effect Feb. 1, the commission announced on its website.
The most substantial change is adoption of North Carolina Administrative Code 10A.0108, which requires all documents in workers' compensation cases to be submitted electronically to the commission unless submitted by an unrepresented claimant. The rule also establishes the protocols for filing documents with the commission's Electronic Document Filing Portal.
