Oregon’s Workers’ Compensation Division adopted temporary changes to the rules used to calculate average weekly wages for workers with irregular earnings.
The division said system users reported that the wage average method used since the start of 2017 has the effect of harming workers who receive an irregular wage – which includes people who earn tips and are paid by commission – and who had a wage increase in the previous year.
