The Industrial Commission of Arizona will present a workshop on learning the Official Disability Guidelines that it adopted for use as the evidence-based standard for treating chronic pain and prescribing opioids to injured workers at its annual claims seminar in August.
In May, the commission adopted the chapter of the Work Loss Data Institute’s ODG addressing chronic pain pursuant to House Bill 2368, a measure former Gov. Jan Brewer signed into law in 2012 that directed the ICA to adopt state-specific evidence-based treatment guidelines by the end of 2014.
