Sompo Japan Gets Nod to Write Insurance in State

Arkansas Insurance Commissioner Allen Kerr has granted authority to Sompo Japan Fire & Marine Insurance Co. of America to begin selling workers' compensation and other insurance lines in the state. The commissioner said Sompo is the 30th carrier authorized to do business in Arkansas since he took office. He also approved a certificate of authority for the 31st, captive insurer Peace of Mind Insurance Co., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Little Rock-based BSR Trust LLC.
