Woman Injured During Pre-Employment Physical Can't Get Benefits

The Arizona Court of Appeals on Thursday ruled that a woman who suffered injuries during a pre-employment physical is not entitled to benefits because there was not yet an employment relationship. The case was Sherring v. Industrial Commission. In January 2017, the City of Tucson offered Jane Sherring a position as a parking service agent. The city’s offer was contingent on her successful completion of all paperwork, a background investigation, reference checks and pre-employment testing.
