A Wisconsin state senator is trying again to enact a law that would make mental stress a compensable condition.
Sen. Andre Jacque, R-DePere, introduced SB 11, which would make law officers and firefighters eligible for 32 weeks of benefits if they are diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. Current law requires that mental injuries must be accompanied by a physical injury or must be the result of unusually stressful circumstances.
