A split Florida Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected an appeal of a denied workers’ compensation claim by an athlete who was injured while trying to regain a roster spot with the Orlando Predators Arena Football League team.
In a 4-3 decision, the justices rejected former Predators lineman Bryon Bishop’s appeal of a 1st District Court of Appeals ruling that he was not eligible for workers’ compensation benefits because he was not a Predators employee when he was injured.
