As the broad market tumbled Wednesday, shares of CRM Holdings Ltd. soared $1.40, or 20.6%, to close at $8.20 on its release of a strong quarterly earnings report.
The workers' compensation insurance services company that operates primarily in California and New York said its revenues rose by 129% to $39.5 million in the third quarter, while net income climbed to $7.2 million from $3.3 million. Quarterly earnings per fully diluted share rose to 44 cents from 21 cents in the third quarter last year.
