As scrutiny of compounded medication prescribing continues in Texas, some are hoping that the Division of Workers’ Compensation will soon move to close a “loophole” that allows the dispensing of certain compounds without preauthorization.
DWC is in the midst of auditing the top 10 prescribers of compounded drugs, who were selected based on having prescribed the largest number of compound drugs and billing the highest amounts for compounds from September 2014 through August 2015.
