A Georgia joint legislative committee has considered a measure that would cut three years off the clock that workers have to file a claim after getting injured, according to a report in the Augusta Chronicle.
Rep. Chad Nimmer, R-Blackshear, is sponsoring House Bill 536. The measure would dismiss any claim filed with the State Board of Workers’ Compensation “for which neither medical nor income benefits have been paid” if a hearing hasn’t been held within two years of the alleged date of injury.
