The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced proposed rulemaking to clarify the personal protective equipment standard for the construction industry.
OSHA reported that the action seeks to align the construction, maritime and general industry standards.
According to OSHA, the current construction standard does not state clearly that PPE must fit each employee properly while the general industry and maritime standards do. The proposed change would clarify that PPE must fit each employee properly to protect against occupational hazards.
