The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation announced it will soon be sending more than $1.3 billion in dividends to public and private employers across the state.
The dividend is not quite as much as the BWC's board of directors had authorized on Sept. 25. Adjustments were made after the annual “true-up” period, in which employers reconciled their premiums, the BWC explained.
The checks will be sent to some 178,425 employers, including $184 million to cities, counties and schools. One county, Butler, near Cincinnati, will receive more than $1.2 million. The City of Clevelan...
