The California Senate passed bills that would require that some utilization reviewers be licensed in the state and would extend a presumption that post-traumatic stress disorder is compensable to additional public safety workers.
The Senate on Monday voted 35-0 to pass SB 623, which would apply the PTSD presumption to dispatchers and firefighters with the departments of State Hospitals, Developmental Services, Military and Veterans Affairs. The Senate voted 30-8 to pass SB 636, which would require that some utilization reviewers be licensed in California.
