Agenda Released for Annual Safety Conference

Friday, July 27, 2018 | 0

Montana’s annual workers’ compensation safety conference will include sessions discussing formularies, medical treatment guidelines and case law, according to an agenda that the Department of Labor and Industry posted to its website.

Bill Wheeler, deputy administrator for the department, will provide an update on the workers’ compensation drug formulary on the opening day of the conference. Other sessions on the first day will explore the departments’ utilization and treatment guidelines, and recent case law.

The second day will feature discussions about national workers’ compensation and pharmaceutical trends, as well as injured worker perceptions about the comp system, and coverage exemptions for independent contractors.

The final day of the conference will feature a screening of “Charged,” a film about Eduardo Garcia, a Montana chef with a prosthetic arm.

The 2018 Governor’s Conference on Workers’ Compensation is being held Aug. 22-24 at the Big Sky Resort.

Early registration runs through the end of July. On Aug. 1, registration fees will increase by $50.

More information about the conference is here.
