A pair of lawmakers from Arizona and California on Wednesday announced the introduction of legislation intended to establish a federal standard for heat stress protections.
The bill, by Reps. Raul M. Grijalva, D-Arizona, and Judy Chu, D-California, would direct the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to adopt a final standard for the prevention of occupational exposure to heat both outside and indoors, according to a statement from Grijalva’s office.
