Arizona lawmakers have introduced bills that would allow electronic service of subpoenas and other legal documents and would create heat safety rules.
House Bill 2033, by Rep. David Livingston, R-Peoria, would effectively require parties to opt out of transmitting documents electronically rather than opt in.
The bill would amend the definition of service to allow electronic transmission of documents unless the receiving party says in writing that it doesn't want electronic service. Current law allows electronic service only with the written consent of the receiving party.
