The Department of Labor and Industries released its May newsletter breaking down Senate File 2056, which Gov. Mark Dayton signed into law last Tuesday.
The Office of General Counsel outlined a section-by-section overview of the bill, which requires insurers to accept electronic medical bills and changes hospital medical fees to use Medicare’s diagnosis-related groups to set hospital fees.
The bill, which passed both the Senate and House with little resistance, will take effect on Jan. 1.
