Bills Propose Federal Firefighter Cancer Presumption

Federal firefighters would be presumed to have developed cancer as a consequence of employment, under a pair of bills introduced this week. Sens. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Tom Carper, D-Delaware, on Tuesday announced the introduction of the Federal Firefighters Fairness Act of 2019. A companion measure was introduced at the same time in the House of Representatives.
