A long-awaited report from the Virginia legislature's audit and review commission — the first comprehensive look at the state's workers' compensation system in 30 years — should help fuel firefighters' push to expand the state's cancer presumption law.
“We're very pleased with the report,” said Robert Bragg, president of the Virginia Professional Fire Fighters. “That's what we've been saying for years — that the system makes it impossible to tie exposure to cancers,” as required by current state law.
